Congregation Shomrei Torah
Now hiring: Religion School teachers

Congregation Shomrei Torah, the Conservative Jewish (USCJ) synagogue in Tallahassee, is seeking two teachers for its 4th-5th grade and 6th-7th grade Religion School classes, which meet on Sunday mornings from 9:30 am to 12:45 pm during the school year, with the exception of Jewish holidays and holidays observed by Leon County Schools. Class sizes are small (typically four to eight students) and are generally divided into the following sessions: Music, Religion Classwork, Snack/Playground Time, and Hebrew/Prayers.

We are seeking individuals who have experience with younger children; are creative; have knowledge of Jewish customs, holidays, and traditions; and can read Hebrew and lead children in prayers.

Pay is $20/hour and includes some planning time. Shomrei Torah’s Membership Brunch and Religion School Registration is scheduled for Sunday, August 18, 2024, and classes kick off the following week on August 25. We need teachers in these postions by that time.

Location: Congregation Shomrei Torah is located on Kerry Forest Parkway, Tallahassee.

Interested candidates, please send your resume (with your cover message) to: education@shomreitorahonline.org. Interviews will be held in person or via Zoom.
